April Lockhart
April Lockhart born 4 July 1995. She began the guitar and piano lessons in 7th grade which sparked her interest. At the age of seven she began to take piano and guitar lessons. This ignited her interest to write songs. The singer spent much of her time at 14 writing songs and practicing music. Then, she began going in NY and LA with her Dad so that they could both compose songs. April also added additional themes to the track "Take My Hand" to help her acquaintances who faced problems like peer pressure, disabilities, and even teens who committed suicide. Lockhart is a popular figure and also works as a lifestyle blogger with the popular Ilia the Clean Beauty brand. She has a disability that is a component of her personality, but it is not the whole of the picture. The account on Instagram of Lockhart doesn't deny her disability. However, it doesn't make it a point to emphasize the issue. What message is it sending? that we are all a part of a multitude that our identities are complex and that we're much greater than the physical person we are. Lockhart in a video message from Nashville at home, claims I don't want this to define my character. I'm much far more than just my physical self. My day-today life is not affected by it. I go about my regular day-to-day life and discover my own solutions to issues. Because it's my identity, it's something that's worthy of talking about. Her journey to self-acceptance is one that can last an entire lifetime. She can be a role model in this regard. She admits that she has gone through phases of being uncomfortable with her body and feeling uncomfortable in certain clothes which exposed her arms. She now wears whatever she likes. And she posts her pictures to social media. What makes self-love so appealing to her is that it's not an end destination. However, I believe that's the case with everyone with whatever they are struggling with. I believe that it's really important to surround yourself with people who can discern and understand your heart.
